2019 FALL OH REUNION AGENDA

1:00 – 4:00 Afternoon Hike(s)
Carter Bascom and Phoebe Howe will lead a hike up Mt. Avalon, leaving from the Highland Center lobby.

But wait, there is more!

We have a second hike available as well. Thompson Davis will lead a field trip to the summit of Mt Jackson, with a stop at Elephant Rock, or just to Elephant Rock if a less strenuous hike is preferred, to examine glacially polished and striated bedrock surfaces that we have sampled for cosmogenic nuclide exposure dating to determine how rapidly the surface of the last ice sheet to cover this part of the White Mountains lowered in response to global warming at the end of the Last Ice Age. Also meeting in the HiC Lobby.

TRAIL RUNNING: WHITE MOUNTAINS AND BEYOND
An informative presentation detailing history of trail running in the white mountains, the AMC hut croo, a breakdown of the “FKT” scene in the White Mountains including the hut traverse, the running scene in the Whites today, and where OH croo have taken their White Mountain strength in the trail running world. The presentation will include two short films, one on Katie Schide’s recent Women’s FKT on the Hut Traverse and one on Hillary Gerardi’s inspirations.

9:15 – 9:30 Closing Remarks

Cabin “Season Pass” for $75; “Family Pass” for $100
Dues and donations help defray cabin costs (50% of expenses). Please “pay to stay.”
