Come join other OH and give back to the trail you love! (sign up by July 5th please)
This is a volunteer opportunity on the Old Bridle Path specifically for OH members (and friends and family). There will be trained AMC leaders and OBP-state project management from World Trails Network who will provide project overview, and instruction and guidance on proper tool use and trail building techniques. Trail work needs are always changing and will be determined closer to the project, but could include: revegetation and stonework along the regraded trail route, digging drainageways, moving rocks to define trail routes and stone retaining, cutting back and hauling cut vegetation, and more. All tools and personal protective equipment will be provided by AMC. Please bring your own trail lunch and water, rain gear and you preferred insect repellent. Long pants and hiking or sturdy work boots are required and a light long sleeve shirt for arm protection is suggested. Participants under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parking is often limited at the Old Bridle Path, so a shuttle will be provided from the parking lot for the Cannon Aerial Tram. We will contact you closer to the event with more details about the day as well as waivers to sign. The work area will take place within 2/3 mile of the trailhead so hiking distance to the work site will be minimal.
- can stay at the OHA cabin (night before or night after) at no charge (pending available space)
- will get a special t-shirt with Greenleaf artwork
