Francis X. Limmer of Kearsage, NH died February 22, 1997 at the Maine Medical Center following a long illness. He was born in Vachendorff, Germany, the son of Peter and Maria Limmer and moved to Mount Washington Valley in 1951. He served in the famous 10th Mountain Division in Italy as a lieutenant and joined his father’s boot making business Peter Limmer and Sons in 1946. He was an avid skier, fisherman and outdoorsman. He leaves his wife Maria, his son Karl, a daughter Elsie, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his brother Peter.
